New Name, New Site! | NOVA Photographer

I’m making it official, Lennah Press Photography is now Deedee Zimon Photography, LLC! If you’ve got time on your hands and want to check out my older blog posts, you can check them out on the old page, but from here on out, it’s all happening here!

I’m kind of excited that this will be the last time that I explain the old business name! So here, goes: I started out my business with letterpress printing (think old timey printing presses ala Newsies). I designed and printed all kinds of stuff, but really enjoyed wedding invitations. Most people who own a letterpress printing company have the word “Press” in their company name. I choose the first part, Lennah, after my paternal grandmother. She actually hated her first name and went by her middle name, that was my way of reclaiming it. So yeah, neither of those things are my name, and as I shifted my passion into photography, the name proved slightly problematic.

Oddly enough, I can’t say that I love my first name either. My real name is Deirdre which is lovely. But I tried it out for a bit and it just didn’t feel like me. I went by Deedee as a kid, but I mean, if I didn’t know me and heard about some chick named “Deedee” I think I would judge pretty hard. My closest friends and family call me D, and I feel like that is most me, but it’s also just a letter. So I guess I’m quite a bit like my grandma :)
